Letter from the Editor

Dear Friends,

Once again, we stand at a new semester and share with you Volume 7, Issue 1 of the ICCTE journal. It is by God’s grace that we continue to be able to bless you with the fruits of the labours of others who faithfully send us their manuscripts. Our production is blessed by the tireless and joyful work of a wonderfully gregarious and collaborative editorial committee, of which I am blessed to be a member.

As you read this letter, plans are ramping up for our tenth Biennial ICCTE conference at Azusa Pacific University from May 23-26, 2012. Your ICCTE community anticipates a wonderful time of learning, inspiration and fellowship as we gather together once again. I am always surprised by joy when I marvel at the diversity and talents of my colleagues and peers. I also eagerly await a deluge of manuscripts following the 2012 conference presentations, so feel free to be part of this prophetic statement! A suggested theme for the summer forthcoming issue following the conference could be on international cross cultural work and diversity.

In this issue, we once again celebrate academic diversity and talent. Articles included probe the topics of teacher placement and preparation, professional development, mission, balancing justice and mercy in the classroom, reflective practice and teacher belief and special education – as well as a new look at a possibly familiar text unwrapped in a review by our book review editor, Hee Kap Lee.

This letter will be brief, as I am awaiting personal conversations with many of you in May. Seeing you face to face is preferable in all aspects to a virtual site. May God bless and keep you all as you travel to join us in California. If you are unable to attend this conference, do consider sending us your work. We, and our faithful reviewers, shall handle it with care and prudence as we seek to encourage you in your publication journey.

Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

In God’s service and yours,
Christina Belcher, Editor, ICCTE Journal and your editorial team:
Scot Headley (Editor at large), James Swezey (Associate and Copy Editor), Laura Barwegen, (Assistant Editor), Sean McKay (Site administrator) and Hee Kap Lee (Book Review Editor).
